moc soles

because my area is chalk downland,consisting of flint and very hard dry ground,i decided to get a sole put on my mocassins,its only little,but it will stop them getting torn to shreds,now i can wear them most places..only cost me £4 to do this....i also added small roe deer coronets on the tounges for decoration..

i redone my medicine bag ,ive replaced a leather thong with a beaded pipe bone one,ive added antlers, fox teeth ,coyote teeth,a badger claw,and a blackbird beak..

mocassins

i got round to making some puckered top mocs,out of a leather jacket i got second hand...
the leathers softer than i wanted for the sole,and it was a bit harsh on the feet,especially as my area is chalk downland...so i think im going to wear a trainer inner sole,until i can find me a moose wandering by,then i can make a pair with a harder sole..lol
i was amazed on how much you can feel with mocs,even warmer parts of the earth,and climbing fallen trees is so easy as your toes bend around the limb..they were very silent,i dont think i snapped a single twig under foot,excellent for stalking..

tomahawk fun..

i love to throw knives,axes and now i throw my diy tomahawk..must be the mountain man in me..
i learnt to throw when i was a kid,as long as you know your rotations and distance you can throw anything..

more bits and bobs

well i finally got to making an excuse for a pair of moccasins,it really only a practice at this time,.
i used my left over blanket material for these.
i seemed to have cut one a bit smaller though...but its a start..i may venture onto real leather next time,just need some good materials...well at least i have a pair of slippers for around the camp site or at home...these were designed on the ojibwa woodland indians style of moccasins..
On another note,today i found a very good tree stand..i may spend some time up here and see what passes by...do deer look up?

i modelled this on the swandri long rangers coat..dont ask me what ABL means,it was on the blanket..ive redone the hood,for a bigger version since this video...i wonder if this would work to sleep in overnight,without taking a blanket..
